Dwellings have different types of warming
There are different kinds of Central Heating Systems that can be purchased in the market. Most of them consist of a set of heating central heating radiators, a gas boiler and copper pipework.
People in the United Kingdom, Europe and some parts of Russia, hardly need an air conditioner because of the low average temperature. Most of us need a decent heating supply far more; this is why the majority of new homes that are being built in this day and age are built with a Gas Central Heating System.
With the onset of winter, heating becomes crucial to warming your home. You can make your home more comfortable, pleasing and relaxing by heating it with Gas Central Heating. Your Gas Central Heating System must be fault free as much as possible and efficient to cut bills. A good central heating system should inspire confidence, give value for money and be simple to operate.
Pumped/vented and sealed are the two main types of Central Heating Systems on the market.
Pumped/vented systems are the ones that many homes have and they have the most components resulting in potentially higher maintenance costs. A pumped/vented Gas Central Heating System includes components known as a feed and expansion tank to allow for the expansion of water as it is heated in the heating radiators. The hot water tank performs two functions; firstly, supply hot water to your house, and secondly, provides heat to the central heating radiators. The tank makes way for any water expansion that is caused by the heating process. The tank is positioned at the point of maximum height, usually in the attic area to create water pressure. It heats the house and doubles as the water supply.
A pumped/vented Gas Central Heating System is what most homes probably have, especially those built many years earlier.
A Sealed Central Heating System is a relatively modern technology, and is being adopted by many homeowners today. No water tanks are needed with the sealed system. This unvented system eliminates water tanks and attic plumbing, thus giving a number of advantages.
- No risk of freezing pipes in the loft.
- No maintenance work on the tank or pipes that would be in the attic in a pumped/vented system.
- The risk of leaks is decreased.
- The sealing off of the system eliminates dirt buildup, air locking and corrosion that often troubles open vented systems.
- The main water pressure can easily be used to flush out a Sealed system for easy maintenance.
All the required controls and safety devices are incorporated into the sealed Central Heating systems. A sealed Gas Central Heating System uses water that comes directly from the main water supply. It is plumbed straight into the main water supply.
The system also has a pressure vessel which contains compressed gas, it controls the variations in pressure and a diaphragm is used to separate it from the sealed system. If the pressure becomes too high in a sealed Central Heating System; a safety valve will allow water to escape from the system and if the pressure drops too low a valve will open to refill the system with water.
As compared to other heating systems, Gas Central Heating systems are cheaper to run. They also offer you all round control which is more than most heating systems do.
